Regional Medical Laboratory, Inc. (RML) is a fully integrated, for profit, clinical laboratory corporation, established in 1983. Pathologists oversee a management team comprised of highly credentialed laboratory professionals with strong backgrounds in medical technology. Many of our technical staff are ASCP registered with subspecialties in blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, cytology, hematology, histology, immunology, microbiology and urinalysis. Local data processing systems, billing services, an extensive courier fleet and marketing capabilities are among the key support functions of RML. RML offers a complete spectrum of state-of-the-art clinical testing and computer support. Pathology Laboratory Associates, Inc. (PLA) offers anatomic and clinical pathology services include surgical pathology, cytology, bone marrow studies, and fine needle aspiration biopsy. RML also offers flow cytometry, DNA analysis, immunophenotyping, and immunohistochemistry to support our molecular pathology services.

Many of the pathologists and our immunologist are on the clinical faculty at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. Pathology Laboratory Associates, Inc. is the primary source for teaching skin pathology to residents in the departments of Dermatology and Pathology at OU. Our immunologist is also on the faculty of Oklahoma State University School of Osteopathic Medicine. A PLA pathologist is always available for medical consultation on difficult cases to answer questions and assist with any laboratory concern.

Pathology Laboratory Associates, Inc. is responsible for laboratory management of RML and adds expertise in laboratory planning and design, management and marketing functions. PLA and RML are deeply involved in laboratory informatics and in the development of laboratory management and utilization software applications.

RML and PLA are primarily based at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma, with regional laboratory operations and service centers in outpatient facilities and community medical centers throughout Northeastern Oklahoma and Southeastern Kansas. RML and PLA provide 24 hour, 365 day per year inpatient and outreach laboratory services.

Since its inception, RML and PLA have remained dedicated to providing rapid, reliable and economical laboratory testing services. There has been sustained growth in testing volumes over the years in part due to our commitment to customer service. In 2004, RML performed over 7 million clinical and anatomic laboratory tests, including over 100,000 surgical pathology case interpretations and over 70,000 cytology cases. Less than 1% of all testing was referred by RML to an outside reference laboratory, ensuring rapid reporting of test results for our clients.

RML and PLA have developed and grown together as a comprehensive laboratory solution for hospitals, local physicians and patients. The integration of PLA and RML combines a highly skilled pathology group with a high quality clinical regional reference laboratory.
