Monkeypox specimen collection
No Monkeypox specimens will be collected at any of the RML Patient Service Centers. If Monkeypox is a clinical consideration, first call the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) Epidemiologist On-Call line at 405-426-8710 or 800-234-5963 to discuss the clinical history of the patient and to get approval for testing. Specimen collection must be done under the direction of an OSDH epidemiologist. Specimens should be collected by a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse or a well trained medical assistant under the direction of an OSDH epidemiologist.
